My Personal Journey

My love for animals has been with me for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was always the one bringing home stray cats, lost dogs, or little birds that had fallen from their nests. Wherever life took me, animals seemed to find me — and I found healing, purpose, and joy in caring for them.

Although I once dreamed of becoming a vet, circumstances steered me down a different path. But that never stopped me from following my heart. Life led me into farming, wildlife rehabilitation, and eventually, into the world of natural healing. Each step along the way deepened my connection with animals and strengthened my calling to help them.

For many years, my family and I ran an ostrich farm, and it was here that my children grew up surrounded by the beauty of nature and animals. When bird flu forced us to let go of that chapter, my focus shifted to rescuing wildlife and domestic animals. I poured myself into rehabilitation — raising orphans, caring for the injured, and rehoming those in need. With the support of veterinarians and courses in wildlife care, I began building the knowledge that would later become the foundation of my holistic work.

As time went on, I realized that caring for animals wasn’t only about their physical needs — it was also about their emotions and spirit. I discovered my ability to communicate with animals and slowly found the courage to explore it more openly. This was the missing piece I had been searching for: the bridge that allowed me to truly understand the needs, fears, and wisdom of the animals I loved so dearly.

Driven by this passion, I dedicated years to study and training. I completed courses in wildlife rehabilitation, nutrition, and infant care, worked with veterinarians, and studied through international programs such as the IWRC (International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council). I deepened my skills in animal communication, body scanning techniques, and holistic therapies through Animal Spirit. At The Animal Healing Academy, I trained in zoopharmacognosy, holistic animal balancing, and natural first aid for dogs. My studies with Animal Scents University in Illinois gave me a solid foundation in anatomy, physiology, and the safe use of essential oils for animals. In addition, I completed my studies as an Animal Naturopath, choosing a holistic approach that focuses not only on the body but also on the emotional well-being of pets and their people.

Through these years of learning, I discovered that my true gift is blending science and soul — combining natural healing knowledge with the ability to give animals a voice. My deepest focus is to support pets emotionally, helping them release trauma, find balance, and thrive — while also guiding their people to grow in awareness and connection alongside them.
Today, my journey continues through Authentic Health and Wellness (Pty) Ltd, where I offer a holistic approach to healing and connection. Whether it’s helping a rescue animal release past trauma, guiding a pet in choosing natural remedies, or coaching people on how to care for their companions in a more balanced way — every session is an extension of the love that has been at the center of my life since childhood.

This path has not always been easy, but it has always been worth it. My greatest joy is seeing the light return to an animal’s eyes, the relief in a pet parent’s heart, and the deeper bond that forms between them. That is why I do what I do — and why I will always keep learning, growing, and sharing, for the sake of the animals who give us so much love. If my journey resonates with you, I would be honoured to come alongside you and journey together to healing and wholeness for your pet or yourself.
